Sunday is a matchmaker, not a dating app. There is nothing to download, nothing to scroll and nobody to search for. The whole thing is four moments, and only one of them happens more than once.
Once, when you join
- 1
You answer the questions. About fifteen minutes. What you are looking for, whether you want children, where you sit on faith and politics, how you handle an argument, how quickly you move. This is what the matching actually uses, and it is why there is no photo gallery.
- 2
You take one selfie. Live, on the spot. A person checks it. It exists only to confirm there is a real human behind the account and it is never shown as a profile picture, not to your match, not to anybody.
Then every Sunday
- 3
In the morning, one question. By email and text: in or out tonight? Say yes and you go into that evening's matching. Say nothing and you sit the week out. Nothing ever happens unless you say yes.
- 4
Early evening, you hear either way. If you were matched, a link arrives with a first name and an age. If you were not, you are told that too, rather than being left waiting.
- 5
At 8pm, ten minutes. Video, in your browser, no app. The first five minutes are audio only, then the cameras come on, so you hear who somebody is before you see them.
- 6
Afterwards, one question each. Keep talking? If you both say yes, we send you each other's numbers and step out of the way. If not, you are simply told it was not a match, and what you said helps find a closer one next week.
The parts people ask about
Why the cameras come on late
Because a face arriving first decides everything after it. You talk for five minutes with the cameras off, so by the time you see somebody you have already heard how they think. You still meet them properly. You just meet them in the other order.
Why only one match
Because five conversations is how online dating became a chore. One person, one evening, and a real reason to show up.
Why you might not get a date
A match needs somebody compatible, in your age range, who also said yes that same week. While we are still growing, a yes does not always find one. We would rather tell you there was nobody right this week than hand you somebody who was not.
What it costs
Nothing today. Sunday is free while we grow.
Common questions
Do I need to download an app?
No. Everything happens by email, by text and through a link in your browser.
Do I have to do something every week?
One thing. Every Sunday morning you are asked whether you are in that evening. Say nothing and you sit the week out.
How long is the date?
Ten minutes, at 8pm Mountain time, the same moment every week for everybody.
Will I get a match every week?
No. A match needs somebody compatible, in your age range, who also said yes that week. While the pool is still small, a yes does not always find one.
What happens if we both want to keep talking?
Sunday sends you each other's phone numbers and gets out of the way. If only one of you says yes, neither of you is told who said what.
