What is Sunday?
A matchmaker, not a dating app. You fill out one profile, and every Sunday at 8pm Mountain time you get one link to a ten-minute video date with the single most compatible person for you.
Is there an app to download?
No. There is no app and no swiping. Everything happens by email, text and a link in your browser.
Are there photos on Sunday profiles?
No. Profiles have no pictures. You answer questions about who you are instead. Everyone does submit one live selfie, but it is only used to confirm there is a real person behind the account and it is never shown as a profile picture.
Why no photos?
Because a photo decides everything before anything else gets a chance. Take it away and the first thing you learn about somebody is what they want and how they think.
When do dates happen?
Every Sunday at 8pm Mountain time. The same moment every week for everyone.
How long is a date?
Ten minutes. The first five minutes are audio only, then the cameras come on, so you form an impression of the person before you see them.
Do I have to do anything each week?
One thing. Every Sunday morning you are asked the same question by email and text: in or out tonight? Nothing happens unless you say yes.
Am I guaranteed a date every week?
No. A match needs somebody compatible, in your age range, who also said yes that same week. While the pool is still small, a yes does not always find a match. As more people join, more yeses turn into dates.
What happens after a date?
You each privately answer one question: keep talking? If you both say yes, Sunday emails you each other's numbers. If not, you are both told it is not a match, and your answers are used to find a closer match the next Sunday.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Sunday is free while we grow.
Do I have to receive text messages?
No. Texts are optional and there is a separate, unchecked box for them during signup. Everything important also arrives by email.
How do I leave?
Edit your profile and turn matching off. You stop being matched from the following Sunday, and a date already arranged for this Sunday still stands. Turn it back on whenever you like. If you would rather your answers were deleted altogether, write to hello@sundaydates.com and we will remove them.
Where does Sunday operate?
Utah, for now. If you sign up from outside it we will keep your profile and write to you when we reach your area.
